About Ashur Bet Oshana

Ashur Bet Oshana is the Assyrian-Australian host and creator behind Assyrian Times Cast, a podcast and YouTube show that gives Assyrians a space to tell their stories in their own words. Based in Sydney, he launched the project in 2023 to sit down with community leaders, clergy, activists, artists, and everyday Assyrians for thoughtful, unhurried conversations about faith, politics, identity, and life in the diaspora. Through interviews recorded primarily in Assyrian with English framing and context, Ashur explores topics ranging from Assyrian history, church life, and homeland issues to business, mental health, and raising the next generation abroad. His goal is to document voices that are often overlooked by mainstream media while helping Assyrians around the world feel seen, heard, and connected. By publishing consistently on YouTube and social media, he has turned Assyrian Times Cast into a growing digital archive of community memory and debate. In bringing together serious discussion, humor, and everyday experience, Ashur Bet Oshana works to strengthen Assyrian awareness and pride, and to model a media platform run by Assyrians for Assyrians.
