About Assyrian Aid Society of Iraq
The Assyrian Aid Society of Iraq (AAS-Iraq) is a critical humanitarian and development nonprofit established in 1991 in response to the severe economic and political neglect in the region. The organization's mission is to implement relief and development programs to support the needy, with a primary focus on the Assyrian community throughout Iraq. AAS-Iraq has been instrumental in the reconstruction of villages destroyed during past conflicts, providing essential healthcare through mobile medical units, and significantly supporting the Assyrian Education Process in all its stages. Since the fall of the former regime in 2003, their construction and support efforts have expanded into the Nineveh Plain. Recognized by the United Nations with Special Consultative Status, the AAS-Iraq continues its vital work to secure the well-being and future of the indigenous Assyrian population through education, health, and reconstruction projects.
