About Emmanuel Romanous
Emmanuel Romanous, known online as Lazy Intellectuals, is a first-generation Assyrian-Jordanian interviewer, educator, and content creator from Arizona. Raised in an immigrant household shaped by stories of war, displacement, and faith, he channels that background into conversations about identity, resilience, and community. While completing his engineering studies, he launched Lazy Intellectuals as a way to share the lessons he drew from reading widely beyond the classroom, distilling complex books into clear, practical insights. Over time, the project evolved from simple book summaries into a platform for long-form conversations with thinkers, faith leaders, and creatives, where Emmanuel uses thoughtful questions to draw out their journeys and ideas. Across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and live events, he focuses on making big concepts approachable while keeping Assyrian perspectives and experiences at the center of his work. As his audience grows, Emmanuel continues to refine Lazy Intellectuals into a space where Assyrians and non-Assyrians alike are encouraged to read more, think deeply, and engage with their cultures and communities more intentionally.
