About Shlama Foundation
The Shlama Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to the recovery and sustainable future of the Assyrian Chaldean Syriac people in Iraq, particularly in the Nineveh Plain following the destruction caused by ISIS in 2014. Registered in both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the United States as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Shlama focuses its efforts on multiple fronts: Emergency Response, Housing reconstruction, providing Economic Initiatives to revive local businesses, supporting Education and Infrastructure, and ensuring Cultural Preservation of the ancient heritage. The foundation works to help displaced families return to and rebuild their villages, ensuring the community's continued existence and thriving presence in its ancestral land.
